Banks Peninsula's Stony Bay: An Enchanting Hideaway

A group of women hikers having fun on the Banks Peninsula Track

Nobody would blame you if you booked the Banks Peninsula Track just for this one night.

Along the way to this spot, you'll be treated to fantastic views over Akaroa Harbour, coastal landscapes shaped by volcanic rock, surprising vistas, and diverse nature.

And then, for your third night, awaits a truly special place that begs to be explored - quirky cabins, a small store for all your needs beyond the full meals provided on the hike (yes it has chips!), a tiny museum recounting the long history of this private trail, a shower so inviting you'll definitely want to use it, and the option to enjoy a ‘bath under the stars’ with a nice glass of wine beside you.

Sonia and Mark Armstrong and their family, who have been part of Banks Track since the beginning, have created something unique with a lot of time, effort, and love—something meant to be enjoyed.

Go and see for yourself; we promise you won't be disappointed - and you'll more than likely be tempted to stay longer. It's truly a place to explore, enjoy, relax, and have fun with a group of like-minded women.

Get ready for another great walking day ladies!

**More Info**

We offer several dates for our small group, women-only Banks Peninsula Track tour per season, each limited to max 11 participants - see our tour calendar for available options. Some tour dates are dedicated Slow Hiking Tours. The technically easy 4-day long hiking tour follows farmland and forest, you'll hike over an extinct volcano, along coasts and cliffs and through reserves. You will enjoy expansive skies and spy penguins and sea lions hanging out in private bays.

There's so much to discover about this three-day walk! If you want to dive in deeper, have a look at these interesting articles in our blog:

Another valuable resource is Stuff, which has repeatedly covered the track over the years:
